Deleting your GETCARTEL account
Updated: August 11, 2026
You can delete your GETCARTEL account yourself, right in the app, with no email and no waiting. This page shows where the button is, what exactly gets deleted, and what to do if the app is not at hand.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open the GETCARTEL app and sign in to your account.
- Go to the "Profile" tab.
- Scroll down to the "Account management" section.
- Tap "Delete account" and confirm.
Before deleting you can keep a copy of your data: the same section has a "Download my data" button that produces a JSON file with everything we hold about you.
What is deleted
Once you confirm:
- profile data — name, phone number, Telegram link, photo — is deleted or anonymized, and the account can no longer be tied to you;
- sessions on all devices end, refresh tokens are deleted, and this account can no longer be signed in to;
- push notification tokens are invalidated and notifications stop arriving;
- vehicles, QR codes, map markers, routes, and saved places are no longer available to you and are no longer used in running the service.
What remains
Messages you sent to another person stay in their conversation — the same way a sent SMS stays in someone else's phone. Anonymized technical records, such as logs and security incident data, are kept for as long as the security of the service and the law require; they can no longer be linked to your name and phone number.
If the app is not at hand
Write to us and state the phone number the account is registered to. We will ask you to confirm the account really is yours — usually with a code sent to that number — and then delete it. This step exists so that a stranger cannot delete your account with a single email.
Timing
From the app the account is deleted straight away: right after you confirm you are signed out and the profile data is anonymized. For a request by email — within 30 days of the moment we confirmed the account is yours, usually sooner.
A deleted account cannot be restored. You can register again with the same phone number, but it will be a new, empty account.
